PROJECT SUMMARY

PPM were engaged to replace the worn out Stockyard long travel rails.

  • The Project team successfully redesigned the rail system to better suit the operating environment; replacing 3000m of rail. The project involved detailed planning and installation of new rail, concrete sleepers and rail ballast; new earthing, drainage and adjustable rail cross ties for machine performance.
  • The new rails were installed to a high tolerance with a 20+ year design life and the project was completed 15% underbudget and early with no injuries.
