The opportunity
Presently, we are in pursuit of a seasoned SMP Mechanical Engineer to join the ranks of PPM. The ideal candidate will be grounded in a robust technical foundation in mechanical engineering, complemented by hands-on experience within the mining or heavy industrial sectors.
Your responsibilities will encompass:
- The design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment tailor-made for mining and heavy industrial applications
- The execution of comprehensive technical analyses, feasibility studies, and meticulous cost estimations for emerging projects
- The provision of technical mentorship to project teams, encompassing design and construction segments
- The assurance of compliance with safety and environmental regulations
- The provision of adept troubleshooting support to operational and maintenance units
- The meticulous execution of comprehensive inspections and audits to ensure alignment with company benchmarks
- Synergistic collaboration with fellow engineers and stakeholders to conjure innovative solutions for intricate technical challenges
This role will be integral to our involvement in an AUD1Bn Capital Works Program that stands out for its complexity and challenge, offering a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on a grand scale.
Ideally, we’re seeking:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent discipline
- A minimum of 5 years tenure in mechanical engineering, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sectors
- Proficiency in engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent platforms
- An aptitude for analytical thinking and adeptness in navigating complex problem-solving
- Exceptional communication skills, underscored by an adeptness for seamless teamwork
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations pertinent to the mining or heavy industrial sectors
