The Opportunity
PPM is seeking an experienced Principal Mining – Operational Excellence (OPEX) to support a major Directional Underground Coal Seam Expansion Study by developing operational strategies that maximise productivity, reliability and long-term asset performance.
This role will focus on ensuring future operating models are efficient, scalable and aligned with project objectives. Working closely with technical specialists and operational stakeholders, you will identify opportunities to optimise performance while reducing operational risk and improving value creation.
This is an opportunity to influence how a future operation will ultimately perform long before production commences.
What You’ll Be Doing
Develop future operational strategies and frameworks.
Identify optimisation opportunities across the value chain.
Conduct productivity and operational assessments.
Support execution and readiness planning.
Develop operational improvement initiatives.
Contribute to project economics and value creation activities.
Coordinate multidisciplinary stakeholder engagement.
Support risk identification and mitigation.
Mentor technical teams and support capability development.
What You’ll Bring
Mining Engineering, Engineering or related qualification.
15-20+ years’ mining industry experience.
Strong operational excellence background.
Underground coal experience highly desirable.
Studies and project development experience.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
