The Opportunity

PPM is seeking an experienced Principal Engineering – Surface to provide technical leadership for a major Directional Underground Coal Seam Expansion Study.

This role will be responsible for leading the surface infrastructure engineering components required to support future underground expansion activities, ensuring all facilities, utilities and supporting infrastructure are technically robust, practical and aligned to long-term operational objectives. Working closely with study managers, mining specialists and client stakeholders, you will provide strategic engineering direction from concept development through to definition-level study outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing
Lead surface infrastructure engineering activities throughout the study phase.
Develop engineering solutions supporting future underground operations.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering interfaces.
Identify project risks, constraints and opportunities.
Support technical option assessments and trade-off studies.
Contribute to capital cost estimates and execution strategies.
Provide technical assurance and governance across study deliverables.
Mentor engineers and support capability development within PPM.
Build strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring
Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related discipline).
RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent highly regarded.
18+ years’ engineering experience.
Strong experience in coal mining infrastructure projects.
Experience delivering prefeasibility, feasibility or definition studies.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and leadership skills
