Join our dynamic team, at the forefront of innovation in the Heavy Industry sector. Based in the industrial hub of Wollongong, we are working in partnership on a major capital works program, and are seeking a skilled Mechanical/Structural Draftsperson to contribute to our ambitious projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies/tools, and controls, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
  • Coordinate with and consult other consultants to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
  • Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess factors affecting component designs.
  • Layout and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
  • Confer with engineering staff and other personnel to resolve problems.
  • Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and structural design principles.
  • Experience in heavy industry or related fields is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
