Manager Engineering – Directional Study

The Opportunity

PPM is seeking an experienced Manager Engineering to provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects, studies and operational improvement initiatives throughout Australia.

This role will be responsible for leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, developing technical capability and ensuring engineering excellence across the entire project lifecycle. You will work closely with Project Directors, Project Managers and our clients to deliver practical, safe and commercially focused outcomes.

This is an opportunity for an experienced engineering leader who enjoys building teams, solving complex problems and developing long-term client relationships.

What you’ll be doing
Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across studies, design and project execution phases.
Manage engineering resources, capability planning and workload forecasting.
Provide technical leadership and governance across projects.
Develop engineering standards, processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support project bids, proposals and strategic growth opportunities.
Mentor engineers and support career development pathways.
Collaborate with project leadership teams to optimise delivery outcomes.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent professional registration highly regarded.
15+ years’ engineering experience within heavy industry environments.
Demonstrated leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management capability.
Experience across Manufacturing, Resources, Ports & Rail, Energy or Infrastructure sectors.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
