The Opportunity:
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced Electrical Engineering Instrumentation & Control Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Wollongong. This is a crucial role for shaping the future of our operations, leading projects from conception to completion with a focus on maximising efficiency, safety, and reliability in our complex heavy industry environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of electrical instrumentation and control (I&C) projects, from design and procurement to installation, commissioning, and handover.
• Develop and implement I&C strategies for new and existing facilities, ensuring alignment with project requirements and safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process engineers, electrical engineers, contractors) to ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee I&C system calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest I&C technologies and advancements, actively seeking opportunities to implement them for improved performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the I&C department, fostering a culture of innovation and learning.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in I&C design, implementation, and maintenance within a heavy industry setting.
• Proven track record of successfully managing I&C projects from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of electrical control systems (PLC, DCS), instrumentation types, and communication protocols.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong focus on safety and adherence to industry regulations.
